Meet Our Guides . . .
Tim Sheehan
.jpg)
Tim Sheehan is a native of central Alabama where he grew up fishing for warm water species thriving in the region’s creeks and lakes. After moving to Western North Carolina in 1998, with help from his father and avid outdoorsman, Tim adapted his fishing skills to the clear mountain waters. Tim has guided angling enthusiasts coming to the Southern Blue Ridge for five years and works with Western Carolina University’s Base Camp Cullowhee to bring this wonderful pass-time to those willing. He is a custom fly rod builder and enjoys innovative fly tying. While seeking a graduate degree in biology education, Tim still manages to log over 200 days a year on the water pursuing his passion.
Jason Cole
Jason Cole grew up fishing the National Park and the Cherokee Tribal waters. As a young child, he spent many days honing his skills on famous streams like Hazel Creek, Oconaluftee, Forney Creek and many others. He has been an avid fly fisherman for over 15 years and worked as a guide for the past 7 seasons, guiding clients for wild and stocked trout as well as small mouth bass and walleye. Jason averages 250+ days on the water teaching, guiding and fishing. He is also wilderness first aid and CPR certified. Jason has a vast knowledge of leading large or small groups into the back country for backpacking, camping and fishing remote areas of the GSMNP. He also volunteers his time to teach fly fishing to area students and clients from 6 years old and up as well as leading Hookers own fly tying classes on Tuesdays. Jason donates 10-12 trips per year to various charities.
Clint Holcomb

Clint Holcomb grew up in rural Rockingham County, NC. He enjoys all things outdoors especially when a little competition is added to the mix. Clint grew up hunting and fishing with his dad. He discovered fly fishing and fly tying when he moved to Cullowhee, NC to attend Western Carolina University where he is currently a student. Both have become a true passion for Clint and he can be found tying a new fly or fly fishing on the beautiful waters in Western NC anytime his schedule allows. You can even find some of Clint's hand tied flies for sale in the shop.
